PBIC 2018 Report: Signature.PB 14 Jan, 2019

PBIC 2018 was held for the second time in Korea since the first PBIC, which was in 2011.

It created a lot of dramas such as going double extra rounds between Signature.PB and Juventus,

and the first ever Indonesia VS Thailand Final in PB e-Sports history.

Let's look into how the teams performed in the tournament.

The last team to take a look is the champion of PBIC 2018, Signature.PB from Thailand.

Ever since Thailand lifting the very first trophy of PBIC in Seoul in 2011,

it took 4 years for Thailand to reclaim the trophy as DFN GZ-Gaming becoming the champion of PBIC 2015.

But ever since 2015, out of 6 international tournaments,

Thailand has reached Final 5 times and lifting the trophy 3 times,

showing dominant performance compared to all other regions.

And in PBIC 2018, they yet again reached the final and lifted another trophy.

In the group stage, Thailand have shown the most dominant performance ever, with 3 wins and 30W 6L round record.

Not only that, looking into personal record, in terms of Kill/Death,

Aggressive recorded 3.50, hudChew recorded 2.53 and MoDra recorded 2.00.

In the semifinal knockout stage, they faced Juventus from Brazil and in the first map, Luxville,

both sides had to bring the game into double extra rounds, playing 28 rounds to find out the winner.

They also played a very close match with a score of 9:8 in Downtown,

Thailand coming out as the winner of the semifinal after a long game.

In the first ever Indonesia VS Thailand Final,

Signature.PB have shown with RRQ Endeavour, the highest level of play of Point Blank.

Signature.PB took a win in Provence but RRQ Endeavour immediately bounced back in Downtown.

Despite the loss, MoDra recorded the most kills (21 kills) in Downtown.

Considering that Signature.PB only took 3 rounds out of 11, and the next highest kills recorded is f1re's 14 kills,

this is incredible performance enough to earn himself an MVP.

In the last map, despite starting the 1st half in red side,

they took the lead with 5:3 and eventually came out as winner and lifted the trophy.

The last time Thailand becoming the champion was in PBWC 2017 by Signature.PB.

And they have made their nation proud once again.
